Prevent Clubs from folding without approval from a league or County FA

This week we have had a team folded by a club accidentally on Portal. This was done without any league or County FA involvement. This has meant the team have had to be re-created, all players re-registered, fixtures re-created, match returns re-created, absolute mess. Please an approval step in before this happens.

  • This should never have been allowed unless the league has confirmed notice of withdrawal has been given and approved the withdrawal.

  • There are numerous warning and confirmation messages that the club need to go through before the team is folded, there is also a period of 14 days in which the decision can be reversed. The fixtures in full time are not automatically removed until a league admin deletes them within the team pages. As per FA Rules and Regulations a club does not require permission from a League or County FA to fold a team so an approval process would not be compliant with the regulations. 


    A notification is sent to the club, league and County FA when a team is folded through this process so everyone is made aware.
