DBS - Update Service

Registering for The FA Update Service 


Please note your DBS certificate must be an Enhanced Level check with the Child Barred List and Child Workforce only.


1. Download Consent Form using the link below:


2. Applicant/customer to complete Part A of the consent form


3. Applicant/customer to contact County FA to arrange ID verification. For ID verification, you will need to take: 

  • Completed Consent Form
  • DBS Certificate
  • In-date Photo ID


4. County FA verifier will need to complete Part B of the consent form, which includes:

  • Signing the consent form
  • Ticking all relevant boxes


5. County FA to submit completed consent form to FADV

  • Email form to updateservice@fadv.com 
  • Copy in the applicant/customer to email 


6. FADV will:

  • Check the status of the DBS Update Service to be ported into The FA
  • If no Change in status they will update the FAN 
  • If there is any change in the DBS status, FADV will contact the individual directly 
  • FADV will undertake an Annual recheck of the DBS status
